Fedora Core 10 (x64) dual boot Installation with Windows Vista
Here I will go over some of the basic installation issues Angry I had while trying to get Fedora 10 (64 bit) version running on my brand new HP Pavilion dv4-1435dx laptop pre-loaded with Microsoft Vista Home Premium 64 bit edition. This article is for newbie's to Linux and want to get running a basic dual boot configuration with Windows Vista and Fedora Core 10 distribution of Linux. So if you have Vista and want to load Fedora 10, you need to:

1. If you do not have a CD/DVD copy of Fedora 10 distribution, you can download it from Fedora 10 download page. The download page describes various versions and ways of downloading the distribution. So if you are installing on a 64 bit machine with a DVD ROM drive, it is probably best to get the Fedora ISO images 64 bit DVD ISO (3.9 GB). For those who don't know what is an ISO image here is the link.

2. Once you are done downloading the .iso image, you need to burn the image to the DVD that you would use to install the Fedora installation. Now it may seem straight forward to burn a DVD but those who are new to "image" burning concept, it is important to remember that burning an .iso image is different from creating a data disc. There are many software's available both free and commercial to do the job.
